Welcome...
Welcome to The Faithless.
As you may have gathered so far we are a fantasy wolf roleplay based in a land known as Tonolea. We are a friendly community, with very few rules and no word count! To us, roleplay ought to be a fun and inspiring experience, not a chore that you must achieve. If we interest you so far, please read on and find out more about our world!
The Plot
"Once, when the grasses where emerald green and the seas sapphire blue, the mortal races worshipped the deities that created them. The deities were revered and loved. The world was as it should be. They lived on the earth together in harmony but the deities were needed elsewhere. After their departure the worship continued for a time. They were loved from afar. But time on earth for mortals passes much quicker than the in the over-world. The mortals that existed side by side with the deities soon passed.
But now generations have passed and the mortals have forgotten where they came from. The deities are little more than legend. Chaos will reign when they see how far their sheep have strayed."
The year is 1009 and so many things have changed. The deities are all but imaginary friends to those who still believe. How will Tonolea fare when the deities come back to visit their old friends and creations?

The Basics
As a wolf-based RPG we do ask that the basic behaviour of wolves is shown in the threads. As such, below you can find a list of resources to help you properly play your wolf character!
International Wolf Centre: This is a great quick-read guide to the basic behaviours of wolves. It includes tail postures, communication and a bit on breeding and pup development. This is great if you already have an idea about how a wolf would behave in the wild.
Western Wildlife Outreach: This site is a little more in-depth than the one above but is still a quick and easy guide to their base behaviours. This resource would be best for someone just starting to learn wolf behaviour.
Wolf Education and Research Centre: This offers a much more in-depth description of behaviours used by wolves to convey different messages. Useful for those who are looking for a bit more realism in their writings. The behaviours indicated on this site are more often than not used by leaders or dominant pack members so keep this in mind while you're reading!
For RP reasons, we allow near year-round breeding with the exclusion of the month of December. Rules for breeding are defined below.
- ☾ Members must ask permission from the Alpha / Pack Admin team before deciding on a litter
- ☾ Loners are to ask the site Admin Team
- ☾ Number of pups in a litter is decided by the Alpha
- ☾ Maximum number of pups in one litter is 6
- ☾ Gestation is 31-40 days IRL or 62-75 IC
- ☾ Please use this guide for pup growth
- ☾ Pups can be adopted out at 11 days IC (7 days IRL). Until then they are played by their parents
Packs & Pack Life
If there is one thing we know about wolves it is that they live their daily lives as part of a pack. Here on The Faithless we call this structure a "Tribe" as they consider one another more as family. Each tribe has a leader structure that consists of two to three wolves. An alpha, and up to two betas.
The Alpha of the pack is the highest ranking wolf and has the last say in all tribal matters. An alpha may run the tribe as he or she wishes, granting breeding permissions to waging war on a neighbouring tribe.
IC-wise the Alpha is responsible for border-patrols and tribe safety and wellbeing as well as accepting new members and keeping track of the current tribe members. OOC-wise the Alpha player must be incredibly active and should do their best to keep up with the happenings of their tribe. They are responsible for activity checks, accepting new members into the tribe, keeping their tribe active by coming up with tribal plots, dealing with breeding requests and posting newsletters and other promotional material.
The alpha should be the first call for anything tribe related.
The Beta is second in charge of the Tribe. They act as informants to the Alpha and lead the Tribe when the Alpha is incapable. They may be asked their opinion on any number of matters and are basicaly there to act as a connection between the Alpha and the Tribe.
Any and every member has the right to create a tribe. However there are rules and steps in place to ensure that the site only ever has a manageable number of tribes at any given time. Please refer to the dot-points below if you wish to create a tribe.
- ☾ Decide on an Alpha and Beta
- ☾ Decide on your Tribal land. A challenge can be issued for an already claimed land. Empty land merely needs to be claimed.
- ☾ Before your Tribe is accepted you must have five followers that will create the base tribe. This means that your tribe should start with six members total, including your own character
Contact a member of Administration with your idea for your tribe, including their Tribal lands and your answers to the above points in the form found below.
Tribe Beta: Character Name / Player Name
Tribe Followers: 1->4 (1->5 if no chosen Beta) (Character Name only)
Tribal Lands:
Challenge?: Y/N
Plot: (if applicable)
Once an Admin has accepted your application your Tribe will be added to the list of Tribes and you will be given all the powers of a Tribe leader.

Creating a Character
When providing a backstory and personality for your character, remember to balance their flaws and talents. A wholly evil Dytis might have a soft spot for fish for example. Everyone has good and bad traits, try to keep your character believable. Backstory should outline all major events, positive and negative until that point.
When you feel you are ready to join the site you can post your character application. Please note that RPing on the forums is forbidden until your character has been accepted by an Admin. Posting on OOC forums is perfectly fine. If you haven't been accepted and your application has been up for 24 hours please feel free to PM a member of staff.
